“Since I’ve come to the club, it’s changed my life in so many ways, whether it’s on or off the field.
“We have got a big end to the season ahead and I will be doing everything I can to make sure we finish the season in the best possible manner.
“I will always be available to support the boys but this is an opportunity to start the next chapter.”
Donaldson, who was given a testimonial match in February, has been studying for a degree in quantity surveying at Leeds Beckett University alongside his playing commitments.
“He is a model professional and a great example for our younger players about what it takes to succeed at the highest level,” said Rhinos sporting director Ian Blease.
“He will leave the club with our very best wishes and will always be welcome back.”
